I'm Gemma-Louise, the founder and owner of Photogemphic.
I’m a female, LGBTQ+ photographer working across portraits, unit stills, and body-confidence photography, and so much more, with a strong focus on images that feel honest, cinematic, and emotionally grounded.
Photogemphic is rooted in storytelling, authenticity, and connection. Every image is created with intention - not just to document a moment, but to reveal the story behind it. My work centres people as they are - not as they’re expected to be.
Portrait photography at Photogemphic is collaborative and expressive. Each session is shaped around individuality, emotion, and presence, creating images that reflect character rather than performance. No forced poses, no rigid expectations - just storytelling through the lens.
As a unit stills photographer, I work quietly within film and television environments, capturing moments that support the narrative of a production without disrupting its rhythm. Every still is created with an understanding of story, continuity, and visual intent. My approach is heavily informed by my background in performance. I graduated in Acting from Coventry University, and I use that training as a creative mind map - drawing on character, motivation, movement, and subtext to bring photographs to life with vision. Understanding what it feels like to be in front of the camera allows me to create a space where people feel seen, understood, and at ease.
Body-confidence photography sits at the heart of my practice. These sessions are about reclaiming visibility, challenging stereotypes, and celebrating bodies without erasure. Every shoot is approached with care, consent, and respect, recognising that being photographed can be both vulnerable and powerful. At Photogemphic, inclusivity isn’t a statement - it’s a standard. I welcome people of all ages, sizes, abilities, genders, sexualities, and backgrounds, and I believe representation matters both behind and in front of the camera. Every photograph tells a story.
